The Role:


Working closely with the strategy and retail teams, the strategy analyst role sits within the corporate strategy and development department. Your main focus will be to work with our group commercial team and our partner, World Duty Free, to help them understand and gain insight on consumer spend behaviour in our airports. On occasion, you will also be required to work across the corporate strategy and development spectrum supporting different types of engagements. These engagements might include anything from strategic initiatives to aviation pitch books or a potential group acquisition.


Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Delivering high-quality discrete streams of work, that will feed into the wider initiative.
  • Carrying-out research and analysis of large amounts of data, deriving insight.
  • Supporting MAG’s group commercial team and our partner, World Duty Free, by analysing store performance, providing actionable insight for profitable decision-making.
  • Running and developing weekly and monthly reports, detailing metrics to enable an understanding of performance and key drivers, coupled with qualitative narrative.
  • Monitoring the impact of wider airport operations and events on key KPIs, allowing for accurate reforecasting and an understanding of underlying performance.
  • Providing analysis and insight to World Duty Free to enable the planning of in-store activity, to maximise customer engagement and improve customer experience.




You will have an analytical mind and be able to deploy this to deliver actional insight and compelling narratives. The breadth of our business requires that you can work with a variety of stakeholders and adapt to different approaches, priorities and requirements quickly.


You must have a combination of the following skills & attributes:


  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work on time sensitive initiatives
  • Highly flexible and adaptable
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive information flows between multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to simplify complex data and deliver insight concisely and quickly
  • Articulate and good writing skills
  • Degree educated or higher
  • Excellent Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills
  • Advanced Power BI skills
  • Experience in another highly analytical role (within the aviation or retail sectors is desirable).
