Position Details:

MAG has a successful history of hiring and developing a wealth of early talent into the business, and as we refuel for the next phase of our growth journey, we will continue to invest in our pipeline of future leaders. As our Early Talent Manager, you will report directly into the Head of Talent Acquisition, whilst working closely with the Head of L&D and internal stakeholders to develop and deploy the early talent strategy and programmes that include Internships, Work Experience, Apprenticeships and Graduate programmes. You will play a key role in the Talent & Diversity function and will benefit from the support of the wider team to achieve your goals.

 

Principal Accountabilities include (but are not limited to):

 

  • Review data and report on metrics regularly, including numbers, diversity, and career progress of the intake post early talent program
  • Respond to the business priorities by developing appropriate Early Talent Programmes
  • Create a compelling narrative that can be used internally and externally to attract early in career talents to MAG programmes
  • Work with HRBPs and the business to understand future capability and leadership and embed them within the early talent programmes
  • With support from the Head of Talent Acquisition and Head of L&D; develop robust assessment tools for Early Talent Programmes
  • With the Head of TAQ, design and deliver a divers recruitment strategy for Early Talent, including the sourcing and selection process
  • Continue to develop relationships with Universities, key external bodies, and vendors and provide leadership of University events
  • Manage the Early Talent budget and the Apprenticeship levy

 

You:

 

This is a role for someone who can develop very close relationships both within the business functions, and also within the HR Team, externally with universities, colleges and other suppliers and partners. Given the cyclical nature of Early Talent recruitment you will be inherently organised in your approach to planning and process whilst having the key influencing skills required to ensure that your internal and external stakeholders as well as candidates have equal focus.

 

You must be someone who wants to put their arms around a function, truly own it, and develop it to the best of your ability and to the needs of the business.

 

Experience in the following would ensure that you were a standout candidate:

 

  • Running talent development programmes
  • Recruiting at volume, preferably for Early Talent Programmes
  • Reporting regularly on agreed metrics and drawing insight from the data
  • Managing budgets would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of the UK Apprenticeship system
  • Knowledge of the UK Higher Education system would be an advantage
