At MAG we provide the airport facilities and travel services that people need to connect with the world. As the largest UK owned airport operator, we serve over 60 million passengers a year from Manchester, London Stansted, and East Midlands Airports. With over 270 destinations across the globe, our businesses not only bring people together but also support the prosperity of the regions in which we operate. The safety of our customers is at the heart of everything we do, and every colleague has a unique opportunity to contribute as we help families, businesses and cargo connect around the world. We are ambitious for our airports, investing in the infrastructure our airports need to grow beyond pre-pandemic levels over the coming years. We are always on the lookout for new ways we can add value for customers as they travel, as well as seeking opportunities to work smarter and collaborate more.
We’re all here on a journey ourselves, striving every day to help make air travel smoother, more seamless, connecting more people and goods with the world. As a team, we recognise the importance of what we do, supporting one another along the way. Together, we are the Journey Makers.

The Role
You’ll support MAG by providing ownership of the Group Forecasting process, interacting with senior stakeholders across the business to ensure a succinct and efficient rolling forecasting process. As a senior member of the finance team, you’ll be required to challenge and provide insight whilst supporting the Divisions in delivering high quality analysis and Corporate reporting, alongside the Group Outturn process, and other significant finance led projects throughout the year. The focus is on partnering key business decision makers; bringing critical forecasting, balance sheet and cash flow expertise to help drive, influence and shape financial performance, advise on future forecasts and support SAP investment / improvement projects to drive efficiencies into Corporate Reporting and month end. You’ll also have accountability, along with Treasury, for the Group’s cash forecasting and management process, helping to manage Group liquidity and assess impact on key performance indicators, covenant compliance and external credit ratings, insuring that they are in-line with the stated long-term Group objectives.

What will make you successful in the role?
You’ll be a qualified accountant with significant experience leading and delivering high quality financial analysis, in either a client service environment or through industry roles. Previous FP&A experience would be great, but it’s not essential. As well as exceptional analytical reasoning skills, you’ll have a strong commercial awareness, an ability to identify risks, mitigations and performance improvement opportunities, and an ability to understand and implement appropriate financial risk and controls processes within the FP&A environment. You’ll have a strong modelling capability with an advanced understanding of Excel, a good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Powerpoint, as well as excellent verbal and written communication and influencing skills. You’ll also be self-motivated, with effective organisational skills and thrive under tight deadlines and high-pressure situations. Previous experience of working with financial systems, such as SAP, and of using BI reporting tools, such as PowerBI, would also be advantageous.

What can we offer in return?
Great benefits as you would expect from a business the size of MAG – in the shape of a competitive salary, bonus scheme and benefits package including 11% company contribution pension, car allowance, private medical scheme, free parking & subsidised public transport, 25 days holidays plus bank holidays and a huge range of company discounts.
