IT Financial Accounts Associate

Role Responsibilities

  • Responsible for raising purchase orders for IT equipment / services and contract renewals requested by the business and ensuring they are within budget, costed, ordered and delivered so they are correctly accounted for and the relevant MAG policies /standards (E.g. procurement have been followed)
  • Management of budget spend and ensuring suppliers can invoice on time to maintain operational performance of critical systems supporting the operation across all 3 airports.
  • To work with third parties to ensure the relevant financial approvals are in place and to resolve any payment issues to avoid operational support services from being discontinued.
  • Financial Administration & Adherence to Procurement & Finance standards/policies: Raising purchase orders against the correct budgets and maintenance of SAP timesheets system to ensure resource costs are correctly capitalised.  Also ensuring costs are correctly financially treated and procurement policies have been correctly followed.
  • Budget Tracking: Tracking spend against OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
  • SAP knowledge: Responsible for building system knowledge to perform tasks such as raising of requests or purchase orders and timesheet mgmt. to ensure ownership. (e.g. SAP).
  • Liaising with key contacts: Cost Centre Owners (G5/6) and the Payments and Financial Business Partner

 

Required Experience

The postholder will need to demonstrate ‘can-do’ approach, have strong attention to detail, highly organised with the ability to multitask.  Financial experience (experience/system knowledge) would be highly desirable. 

 

Knowledge

  • Highly proficient knowledge of MS Excel, including formulas and formatting.
  • Experience of working with financial systems (SAP or Oracle E) or similar systems
  • Good knowledge of financial terminology and information
  • Some accountancy experience (qualifications and/or work experience) would be highly desirable but not necessary

  • Strong analytical skills and proactively manage identified issues
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload and priorities
  • Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills (essential).
  • Ability to work autonomously and be able to use initiative to take ownership of an issue to resolution and ability to multi-task to meet fixed deadlines
  • Attention to detail – ensuring costs are processed correctly and questioning potential inaccuracies in cost / dates or if other MAG policies (e.g. procurement) have not been followed
