Position Details:

 

MAG’s HR Team is currently going through some really exciting changes, creating a focused, modern and collaborative ‘one team’ approach across our Group. This Manchester based role covers a broad range of departments from traditional group functions such as Finance, H&S, Legal and People Services, to Digital Technology. The position offers a fantastic opportunity for the right person to deliver a fresh, exciting People Strategy and plan, with your key focus areas being colleague engagement, Customer Service, talent, and succession planning. You will be working closely with the business and the people team to deliver the people agenda.

This is a true partnering role. You will work hand in hand with our Line Managers, providing them with local People, ER and general HR support. As a People Workstream Lead within local change projects, you will also be ensuring change is delivered on time and within budget.

 

Principal Accountabilities

 

  • Work with the People Director, SLT and broader People function to shape and implement a future focussed people strategy
  • Act as a Change Agent within the Business area to support the ongoing development of the organisation
  • Work with the People Director to ensure that all aspects of the people strategy are fully executed and embedded.
  • Influence and coach clients to identify high performance and potential individuals and to initiate suitable career development opportunities.
  • Embed a rigor around talent development, risk mitigation and succession planning, linking to the needs of the group.
  • Providing expert and accurate People advice to assist and coach line managers
  • Partner with Line managers throughout business planning to identify future structure and resource requirements. (Recruitment to be managed through recruitment partner and hiring manager)
  • To work with business leads to provide expertise for Organisation Design discussions
  • Coach, support and challenge line management through complex grievance and disciplinary issues
  • Develop the employee engagement culture, measured through surveys

 

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • Graduate caliber with relevant professional experience
  • Graduate CIPD
  • Experience of managing change and operating in a unionised environment
  • Experience in digital technology is a distinct advantage
  • Knowledge & experience of Talent Management & Succession Planning
  • Experience of change management
  • Knowledge and experience of developing and implementing best practice HR techniques and methodologies (reward, ER, Leadership & Development, engagement)
  • Experience of supporting senior stakeholders and demonstrates ability to influence where appropriate to ensure people change activity is delivered successfully.
  • Strategic thinking
