MAG is embarking on the second phase of the Manchester Airport Transformation Programme (MAN-TP).  This will see MAG invest a further £0.5bn to revolutionise the customer experience in Terminal 2 over the next 2-3 years. 


The role:


MAN-TP comprises a number of differing work streams, all with their own set of challenges, covering demolition and refurbishment, MEP, baggage, new build, civil & structural, airfield works and fit-out.  This will provide successful candidates with a varied and challenging work load and significant opportunities for professional and personal development.


This role sits within the client team, where you will be able to play a leading role in the delivery of this fast paced and dynamic programme, engaging with stakeholders across the airport campus.  You will get the opportunity to work within an experienced team of project/programme management and construction professionals, collaborating with MAG’s consultants and contractors to achieve success. Other accountabilities include:



  • Accountable for delivery of projects within the MAN-TP Programme of works across group with clear focus on Cost, Schedule, and Quality and compliance with the MAG PDS.
  • Ensure appropriate resource is allocated to projects within Programme portfolio.
  • Plans, prioritises, and manages multiple projects, ensuring delivery as promised with business case benefits realised.



  • Accountable for ensuring own Programme of projects are undertaken with minimal acceptable disruption to Airport operations.



  • Drives value and efficiency through robust contract management and identification of on project opportunities.
  • Accountable for achieving in year Capex expenditure for own portfolio of projects.



  • Support & maintain a high-performance culture.
  • Support team of project professionals.
  • Lead team of contractors and consultants




As a Project Manager, you will have proven experience in project development from explore through to handover, excellent stakeholder management skills and experience in managing 3rd party approvals. Project delivery on large and small greenfield & brownfield sites is essential, alongside the ability to contribute to building & presenting business cases.


We also want you to look for opportunities to develop and learn, improve and stream line what we do, inspire and motivate others and look for alternative ways to do things when faced with a challenge. It is also desirable that you have a University Degree and Chartered Engineer or Chartered Surveyor Status or equivalent.
