The role

 

In this role you will work as part of our friendly and supportive Motor Transport Team conducting Civil Aviation Authority CAP 642 Safety Inspections on a full spectrum of light and heavy vehicles and Aviation Ground Support Equipment, using the DVSA MOT as the handrail. You’ll complete 7-8 inspections per day is a busy operational environment and be responsible for making decisions on passing or failing the testable items. You’ll also be confirming inspection results and completing all associated documentation, both paper and electronic, and providing all customers with a continuity of inspection standard based on both DVSA and CAA regulations.

 

 

What will make you successful in this role

 

The ideal candidate will have workshop experience in the motor trade along with either an NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or a BTEC National Certificate in Vehicle Repair & Technology. You’ll need experience in servicing and maintenance tools and equipment working on either light or heavy vehicles or ground service equipment. We appreciate you might not have experience in all three areas and so further training can be provided to ensure you have the skills and knowledge to service all of the assets required. A full UK driving license is essential, whilst a HGV, PCV or Fork Lift Truck license would also be advantageous. You’ll also need to be a team player and comfortable using technology to operate diagnostic equipment and completing relevant documentation.
