The role

This is fixed term contract will suit someone with excellent communication skills and previous knowledge of airfield operations 

The role is to ensure that the airfield environment is safe for aircraft operations, ensuring that both regulatory and internal requirements are met.
To respond to emergencies as detailed in the airport’s emergency procedure
Responsible for the implementation of a continuous random patrol regime.
Responsible for ensuring that emergency services are escorted to incidents safely by the most expeditious route
To immediately report any breaches or incursions of airport security measures.

To manage vehicle access and egress in the demarcated areas.
To facilitate the movement of airport security personnel between locations.
To escort contractors’ airside as required by the Airfield Operations Supervisor.
To respond to emergencies as required by the department’s emergency procedures.
To report any incidents, non-compliances or pavement defaults to the Airfield Operations Supervisor immediately 
To conduct daily inspections and checks of the airfield and demarcated areas
To assist the Airfield Operations Supervisor to ensure that the airfield environment remain clean and safe from FOD 

 

What will make you successful in the role?

DfT Ground Security Operative certificate.
Knowledge of undertaking airfield security patrols is essential.
Good knowledge of aviation security is essential.
Knowledge of airfield safety procedures and standards is desirable.
Must hold a ADP A and ADP M permit with current associated competencies.
Ability to manage own time and workload without supervision.
Capable of working in external environments in all weather conditions.
Capable of working 12 hour rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends and public holidays.
To have good administration and information technology skills.
Must hold a full UK driving license, and meet the medical criteria for obtaining an ADP A and ADP M permit.
Capability to obtain a UK Counter Terrorism Check (CTC) is essential
