The Team:

 

Asset Maintenance Services covers maintenance of all airport ‘core’ operational assets including runways, taxiways, aprons and stands (inc. associated equipment such as FEGP, safe dock systems, airbridges), terminal buildings and associated ancillary equipment M&E, passenger processing facilities (e.g. check in desks, security equipment), baggage systems, landside facilities (e.g. car parks) and airport owned road network, airfield equipment (e.g. tugs, stairs) and landside buses owned by the airport. 
 

 

The Role:

 

As Asset Maintenance Director for East Midlands Airport, you will drive the asset maintenance activities for the whole airport including OPEX and minor works CAPEX undertaken by our teams and third-party providers ensuring a strong culture of continuous safety and asset performance, delivering robust airport service standards, and meeting all strategic operational plan requirements. You and your team of circa 150 colleagues and third-party providers will manage all asset risks on a 24/7 basis, with a OPEX budget of £9million per annum and a CAPEX budget of £10million per annum. The Asset Maintenance Director will provide clear direction and leadership across the team, acting as a role model through values led behaviour driving a high-performance culture creating development and learning opportunities. Cross-functional collaboration will be critical building excellent relationships with wider Capital Delivery and Property teams to meet all East Midlands Airport objectives.


What will make you successful in this role:

 

We want you to spearhead the way in defining, scheduling, and delivering the assets maintenance plan, your contribution will mean all airport owned asset meet the minimum agreed requirements at an appropriate level of cost whilst ensuring risk is appropriately managed and mitigated. 

 

To do this you will:

 

  • Drive the right values and behaviours in the leadership of your team enabling the optimisation of asset management strategies to hit overall asset health, risk, and cost performance targets

  • Manage cost and productivity through a 24/7 service providing a rapid response

  • Provide visible leadership in safety culture, governance, and performance across the airport

  • Ensure the effective procurement, scheduling, and use of resources (labour and materials) to optimise the delivery of the asset maintenance and FM requirements for the airport

  • Focusing on managing elements such as Legionella, Water Regulations, Building Compliance; Asbestos; Electrical Safety; Health & Safety; Risk Assessments; and DDA are adhered to, in accordance with the asset maintenance plan and MAG safe systems of work

  • Guarantee any capital works delivered through Capital Delivery are planned and co-ordinated in a way that manages the risk to operational disruption.

  • Operate as a true leader at the airport acting as Airport Duty Director from time to time

 

We also need you:

 

  • To hold Chartered Engineer status degree qualified in an engineering discipline

  • Be fully up to date with the appropriate HSE and EU regulations 

  • Extensive knowledge of associated regulatory documentation and controls
