The Role

 

To provide strategic and operational leadership of the East Midlands Terminal Security operation, shaping and delivering a business plan in line with the EMA Vision, delivering ‘optimal’ operational efficiency whilst achieving and maintaining high levels of compliance and Customer Service standards.

 

Deliver and support a resourcing structure that meets the needs of the operations whilst aligned to the EMA broader business plan, whilst ensuring all agreed SLA Customer metrics are met.

 

Typical Duties will include:

 

  • Responsible for setting the Terminal Security strategy, operating model and standards and implementing improvement plans and ensuring the customer journey through the airport terminals is a positive, safe and secure one.
  • Deliver and report against key airport security & customer service focused KPIs including ASQ/NPS and financial performance within Terminal Security
  • Lead the development of a high performing security team (c. 400 colleagues) providing clear direction, accountability and a focus on security compliance, operational excellence and customer service. Champion a customer service & compliance culture within the terminals adopting best practice and service excellence.
  • Coach and mentor your team to set them up for success and support career aspirations.
  • Champion a culture that embraces colleague wellbeing and welfare.
  • Develop a collaborative partnership with the TU’s at EMA, develop working forums, share business updates and rationale for supporting new initiatives that require Union support.
  • Deputise for the CSSD and represent EMA across both customer service and security internally & externally where appropriate as well as a vital member of the Airport Leadership team (ALT)
  • Take the lead where appropriate in the management of security operational incidents at the airport through coordination of colleagues, service partners and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure your personal safety and the safety of others at all times, you will comply with all appropriate HSE rules, instructions and procedures and only conduct tasks that you have been trained to do, and report any hazards or irregularities
  • Key End User Sponsor for capital projects delivering investment into the end-to-end customer journey.

 

You!

  • Extensive experience of leading, coaching and managing a large operational team
  • Demonstrable experience of managing change and departmental growth
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent as well as extensive applied knowledge and experience in being responsible for service delivery led operational teams
  • Demonstrable experience of improving performance by introducing more efficient working practices
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and team-building skills will be required to make this role a success.
  • Experience in Customer Services both in delivery and recovery, with a demonstrable record for identifying service gaps and applying a structured approach to improvement.
  • Demonstrable experience in creating a holistic view to customer experience, with regard to formulating, implementing and improving service standards
  • A strong understanding of the value and revenue drivers of the airport and how good customer service can contribute to income generation.
  • A track record in identifying and delivering ongoing efficiencies, within a high performing business environment
  • A demonstrable track record of shaping, leading and developing a high-performing multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience in working in a dynamic, multi-stakeholder, live environment.
  • Having strong leadership skills and the tenacity and determination to make improvements
  • Must have resided in the UK for over 3 years in order to meet the requirement to obtain CTC clearance (Counter Terrorist Check)
