About the role: 

As the Air Traffic Safety and Compliance Officer at East Midlands Airport, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and operational effectiveness in air traffic operations. You will play a crucial role in monitoring, auditing, and improving management systems, working closely with both operational teams and senior management to promote and maintain a culture of safety across all air traffic activities.

You will contribute to ongoing training and development initiatives; help implement safety protocols and ensure that the East Midlands Air Traffic Control adheres to both national and international aviation regulatory standards. About you:  

 

    • Current or recent experience as a civilian Air Traffic Controller or demonstratable safety and compliance experience in the Air Traffic Management (ATM) environment
    • A deep understanding of Air Traffic Control operations.
    • Strong knowledge of national and international aviation safety standards, regulatory frameworks, and risk management principles.
    • Proven recent experience in incident reporting, hazard analysis and risk assessment, compliance monitoring, root cause analysis and safety case evaluation within the ATM environment.
    • Ability to analyse complex data and produce clear, actionable reports.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse teams.
    • A Demonstratable understanding of root cause analysis techniques
    • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
