The Role:

 

The Press Officer plays a leading role in managing relationships with journalists to further MAG’s profile, reputation and reach in media, with a particular focus on national and international outlets. You will support the Director of Communications, Senior Press Officer and, where required, airport Heads of Media, in managing relationships with journalists and other media professionals, including editors, reporters, broadcasters, and bloggers.

 

You will support on key influencing projects, including PR campaigns, company announcements and financial communications, and will also help MAG react to the external news agenda by handling journalist enquiries on a day-to-day basis. This will include generating ideas for supporting collateral, and commissioning and delivering these materials as suitable.

 

The Press Officer is also responsible for supporting the maintenance of some owned media channels, including the group website, media centre and Twitter channel, and is responsible for the ongoing development and growth of those channels. You will also hold relationships with all media service providers on behalf of the Group, and they will support the wider directorate by maintaining MAG’s communications calendar, covering all strategic priorities at and airport and group level.

 

You:

 

You will have experience of influencing stakeholders, including journalists, through events, meetings, phone calls and emails, as well as managing projects and driving successful outcomes. You will also have an interest in the external environments that impact on MAG, including developments and trends in print, broadcast, social media, politics and regulation, plus the ability to see the world through the lens of others, and manage very unpredictable and fast-moving situations.
