About the role;

 

Reporting directly to the Baggage Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for reactive, corrective and preventative maintenance of our AUTOCa’s and specific AUTOVER Assets within the baggage handling system.

 

These state-of-the-art systems are central to a £72m investment project allowing London Stansted Airport to host over 40m passengers each year.

 

Our Airport is a 24/7 operation, so you must have a flexible approach to work as you could be working weekends as part of your 42 hours per week.

Principal Accountabilities;

 

  • Reactive and preventive maintenance of the AUTOCa carts​.
  • Corrective maintenance of the AUTOCa carts.
  • Accountable for the AUTOVER Maintenance Area.
  • Responsible for the AUTOVER Toolkits and specialist Tools.
  • Provide and support AUTOCa recovery in breakdown situations
  • Flexible working – 7 days a week
  • Cleaning the AUTOVER track, sensors, inject points.  
  • Compilation of fault trends and estimated MTBF of individual components
  • Stock control of Items required in order to carry out the required works

 

 

 

Knowledge, Experience and Skills;

 

To be successful in this role, you will have Mechanical/ Automotive Engineering experience with some Electrical knowledge with relevant qualifications in a completed apprenticeship NVQ2 or equivalent. Good IT skills, ability to work in a team and develop strong working relationships are all a must. This role can be physically demanding, so please only apply if you feel able to cope with a role of this nature.
