The role

As Aviation Business Development Manager, you’ll play a key role in growing London Stansted Airport’s airline network, identifying new opportunities and building strong relationships with prospective aviation partners. Working closely with the Head of Aviation Business Development and wider aviation team, you’ll help develop and secure new routes and capacity, driving passenger growth and revenue.

 

You’ll develop business cases and commercial plans for new airline opportunities, provide insight to support account management and contribute to the delivery of the airport’s aviation strategy. You’ll also monitor market trends, competitor activity and wider industry developments to identify opportunities and inform future planning and forecasting.

 

Working collaboratively across Aviation, Marketing and external partners, you’ll help strengthen Stansted’s market presence and support both existing and future route development opportunities.

What will make you successful in the role?

  • Experience in aviation business development and route development.
  • Strong knowledge of airline networks, commercial activities and airport operations.
  • Experience working with or for travel trade organisations.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends, risks and commercial opportunities.
  • Ability to translate aviation strategies into clear, executable plans.
  • Strong PowerPoint skills and a talent for turning data and market insights into a simple, persuasive story for airline pitch presentations.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to build advocacy across multiple business divisions and airports.
  • Experience in business planning and budgeting
