• 42 hours per week (shift patterns fixed 4 on 4 off, days and nights)  
• Salary - £31,958.20 rising to £35,393.99 upon successful completion of minimum 3-month qualifying period
• Plus shift allowance of 17.5%

The role

London Stansted Airport are seeking a Civils Maintenance Operative to carry out various maintenance tasks across the airport estate to the highest standard and observing best working practices.

• To work in a team, proactively ensuring that the landscape infrastructure (both interior and exterior) is maintained within regulatory, safety, quality and performance standards.
• Ensure that all plant and equipment is maintained in a safe operational condition. Identify promptly any faults and report to the appropriate person(s) for action.
• Safe operation of machinery, wearing the necessary PPE at all times.
• Be responsible for the execution of maintenance tasks as defined in the grounds schedule. Ensure all reactive work is acted upon and completed in line with any service level agreements and customer requirements.
• Be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety, safe working practices and legislation relevant to the External Engineering Unit.
• Any other duties that are legally given by Managers and Team Leaders.

What will make you successful in the role?

This position would suit someone that has a background that has involved, ground working, landscaping, labouring, general building/maintenance. It will involve working outside and in all weathers across the airport estate.  

• Professional qualification in building/plumbing/general maintenance or suitable working experience.
• Full UK driving licence (Essential) Towing experience (desirable)
• Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills including punctuality.
• Experience of team and lone working.
• Health & Safety conscious.
