The role:

We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations (ER) People Partner to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping a positive and inclusive workplace culture within a dynamic airport environment. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of People Advisors, guiding them in the fair and consistent application of employment and company policies, while balancing the demands of a fast-paced, highly regulated operational setting.

In this role, you will act as a trusted partner, offering expert support on a wide range of employee relations matters. You will be responsible for overseeing complex disciplinary cases, grievances, absence management, and performance improvement processes, ensuring compliance with employment law and mitigating organisational risk. Your insights and guidance will be crucial in navigating sensitive workforce challenges and upholding legal and regulatory standards. You will identify and deliver coaching and education opportunities on effective employee relations practices and consistent application of HR policies.

The role encompasses leadership and team management, hands-on employee relations and casework, legal compliance, performance and absence management and data analysis. You will use your strong knowledge of UK employment law, case law, and ACAS guidelines to provide effective solutions, particularly in cases involving grievances, disciplinaries and dismissals. Experience in managing Trade Union relationships, consultations, and navigating industrial disputes will be key to your success.

About you:

The ideal candidate will bring proven expertise in resolving complex employee disputes and managing high-risk cases. You will have a strong track record in conducting thorough workplace investigations, producing legally robust reports, and supporting tribunal cases when required.

A proactive, self-starting attitude is essential—you take ownership, anticipate challenges, and make things happen without waiting to be asked. You will be flexible and resilient, able to operate at pace, manage pressure effectively, and balance competing priorities and deadlines with confidence. You will also have a proven ability to lead a high-performing team, apply critical thinking to ER risks, and collaborate closely with both legal and operational stakeholders, which will be key to your success in this role. Experience of working with and/or implementation of a case management system would also be desirable.

If you’re ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role in a high-impact environment, we would love to hear from you.
