The role

  • Developing a strong understanding of the Stansted Transformation Programme and its strategic importance to MAG.
  • Learning core engineering and project management processes, including why they are essential and how to apply them effectively.
  • Working collaboratively with project teams, contractors, and operational staff to understand how integrated delivery drives success.
  • Gaining an appreciation of our Values and Core Behaviours framework and demonstrating them in day‑to‑day activities.
  • Building foundational experience in project development and delivery, from early exploration through concept design to implementation.
  • Understanding the importance of cost, schedule and quality compliance by learning how engineering and business processes support effective project delivery.
  • Learning to plan, prioritise and support multiple projects, developing strong organisational and time‑management skills.
  • Conducting site inspections focused on schedule progress, quality assurance, and safety compliance against approved plans and documentation.
  • Contributing to project reporting cycles (weekly, fortnightly, monthly) and supporting the preparation and logistics of internal forums and training sessions.
  • Supporting cost analysis, drawing mark‑ups, contract research and preparation for commercial negotiations and settlements.
  • Committed to achieving your engineering chartership.

  • A degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving and numeracy skills.
  • An interest in project management, construction, or infrastructure delivery.
  • Curiosity, a willingness to learn, and a proactive approach to development.
  • A collaborative mindset with the confidence to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to follow structured processes.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
