The role

• Support the implementation of fire safety measures in line with statutory regulations and the MAG Fire Safety Framework Standards
• Promote a proactive fire safety culture across the airport
• Minimise fire-related risks to ensure the safety and welfare of all airport users
• Protect company assets and maintain operational resilience through expert guidance and collaboration
• Provide professional fire safety advice and training to internal teams and third parties
• Assist line management in fulfilling statutory fire safety responsibilities
• Ensure compliance with fire safety policies, procedures, and best practice standards
• Support continuous improvement in fire safety management and incident prevention
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain a safe and compliant environment

What will make you successful in the role?

• Previous experience as a Fire Safety Professional or supporting Fire safety in a large, busy operational environment, with transport/large places of assembly related experience desirable
• Qualifications in Fire Safety Management related qualification or equivalent ideal or working towards
• Membership of a professional body such as the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM), Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE) or equivalent upon commencement
• Working knowledge of:
  • Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, BS 9999, Building Regulations 2010 and Approved Documents applicable to fire safety
  • Practical knowledge of British Standards for fire safety
• Experienced and competent fire risk assessor with knowledge of PAS 79
• Strong ability to analyse information and to determine effective risk-based solutions
• Strong communication and influencing skills with high level of computer literacy with working knowledge of Excel and good report writing skills
