The role
- Support the implementation of fire safety measures in line with statutory regulations and the MAG Fire Safety Framework Standards
- Promote a proactive fire safety culture across the airport
- Minimise fire-related risks to ensure the safety and welfare of all airport users
- Protect company assets and maintain operational resilience through expert guidance and collaboration
- Provide professional fire safety advice and training to internal teams and third parties
- Assist line management in fulfilling statutory fire safety responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with fire safety policies, procedures, and best practice standards
- Support continuous improvement in fire safety management and incident prevention
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain a safe and compliant environment
What will make you successful in the role?
- Previous experience as a Fire Safety Professional or supporting Fire safety in a large, busy operational environment, with transport/large places of assembly related experience desirable
- Qualifications in Fire Safety Management related qualification or equivalent ideal or working towards
- Membership of a professional body such as the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM), Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE) or equivalent upon commencement
- Working knowledge of:
- Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, BS 9999, Building Regulations 2010 and Approved Documents applicable to fire safety
- Practical knowledge of British Standards for fire safety
- Experienced and competent fire risk assessor with knowledge of PAS 79
- Strong ability to analyse information and to determine effective risk-based solutions
- Strong communication and influencing skills with high level of computer literacy with working knowledge of Excel and good report writing skills
