The role
Reporting to the Programme Delivery Director, you will lead a team accountable for delivering the construction, commissioning and transition into operation the Stansted Transformation Programme. (STN-TP) You will manage the 1st tier supply chain to ensure safe, efficient, on time delivery of STN-TP ensuring delivery meets the required safety and quality standards. You will be accountable for driving best practice and a catalyst for innovation in infrastructure delivery, working with both operational and supply chain leaders to define and develop solutions to mitigate programme risks ensuring programme objectives are met without compromise to benefits. You will contribute to developing the Programme’s approach to infrastructure delivery, particularly, but not limited to the areas of safety, resilience, environment and sustainability and capital efficiency.
As a member of the STN-TP leadership team, you will manage an integrated team of MAG and consultant programme delivery professionals ensuring collaboration across all group support and local business functions. The Transformation Programme includes delivery of multiple infrastructure workstreams, including but not limited to; Airfield, Terminal Processor, Pier/Satellite, Baggage (arrivals and departures) and IT.
You will be accountable for supporting programme governance with timely reporting, decision making and escalation of programme risks and issues, supporting the Programme Delivery Director by preparing reports for programme board and steerco, ensuring SteerCo are presented with accurate, periodic programme status reports and recommendations for decisions.
What will make you successful in the role?
The successful candidate will be educated to a degree/post graduate level and hold a professional affiliation (eg: RICS; APM; CIOB; RIBA, ICE or similar). With a minimum of 15 years’ experience of complex project delivery leadership, you will have extensive experience managing all phases of project delivery from project inception to test, commission and handover across the full range of project size and complexity.
You will demonstrate a deep understanding of client needs and sector-specific commercial and operational opportunities, with a proven ability to identify and articulate the critical success factors that drive project outcomes. With significant experience leading and managing large, multi-disciplinary teams across project management, design and construction, you will possess excellent industry knowledge and expertise in complex delivery environments. Strong contractual and commercial awareness, including risk management and whole-life value considerations, alongside proven experience of operating within regulatory frameworks and influencing a wide range of stakeholders are key to this role.
