The role

This is a critical, leadership role to ensure the efficient, safe and effective running of London Stansted Airport, aiming for the best possible experience for our customers, partners and colleagues. Your key responsibilities will be: 

  • Leading a team of 130 colleagues to ensure the cleanliness, functionality and operation of all airport facilities. 
  • Oversee development of service delivery plans for all areas across the airport, working with your direct reports to ensure best practice and continuous improvement principles are at the heart of the plans. 
  • Drive improvement and innovation relating to practices and technology. 
  • Review processes and systems for improvement. 
  • Coordinate key operational activities to deliver the most efficient airport operation. 
  • Manage external contractors and supporting functions to deliver minor capital improvement schemes. 
  • Work collaboratively to influence policy decisions. 
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining emergency response plans. 
  • Build partnerships with external suppliers and 3rd parties. 
  • Use data to inform decision making relating to project requirements and working practices. 
  • Work across various departments to ensure smooth operation of facilities. 
  • Manage quality assurance and reporting. 
  • Budget management. 

What will make you successful in the role?

In order to perform this role fully, you will poses the following:

  • Professional qualification in Facilities Management or Building Services - HNC minimum. 
  • Track record of delivery in a senior FM or Engineering position. 
  • Experience leading large, shift based teams. 
  • Experience with budget management. 
  • An empathetic, development focused approach to leadership. 
  • Demonstrable project management experience.
