The role:
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining effective health and safety management systems for STN-TP, ensuring all regulatory requirements are consistently met. You will provide technical advice and guidance to mitigate risks and embed health and safety at the heart of everything we do.
You will represent Health, Safety, and Fire Safety in group and site forums, while also developing and maintaining a central technical library of procedures and documentation for STN-TP, including clear arrangements for working with contractors and third parties. Staying ahead of emerging regulations, you will anticipate changes, carry out impact assessments, and implement plans to ensure compliance. You will also oversee the legal register for health and safety, keeping it up to date and accurate.
As the lead for monitoring and managing strategic improvement plans, you will ensure site-specific procedures remain fit for purpose and that risks are properly controlled. You will proactively assess the impact of new work activities, design implementation plans, and support safe and compliant operations. In addition, you will establish effective health surveillance programmes, produce comprehensive management reports to support oversight, and make sure all teams, including contractors, have access to approved health and safety training courses to maintain technical competence.
What will make you successful in the role?
You will hold a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (Level 6) or an equivalent qualification, and be a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH). With a minimum of five years’ experience as a Health & Safety Manager in a high-risk environment, you bring the expertise and confidence needed to manage complex challenges while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.
