The role


We’re looking for a Metering Engineer to join our installation team at London Stansted Airport. We are on a mission to drive real-time metering revolution to support our ambitious journey toward a greener and more energy-efficient future. Working safely as a team of two, you’ll be responsible for the installation and commissioning of electric meters and dataloggers onto MAG’s Real-time Energy Metering Platform (full training provided). Other accountabilities include (but not limited to): 

  • Carry out electric meter & datalogger installation, repair, and replacement as required.
  • Support the development of a metering strategy and the implementation of this across all MAG sites.
  • Identify and deliver energy saving initiatives and to share best practice across all MAG sites.
  • Carry out quality and compliance checks on direct and sub-contracted meter installations.
  • Promote and take a leading role in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

What will make you successful in the role?


You’ll have excellent time-management and problem-solving skills, as well as the resilience to meet and achieve tight deadlines. You’ll also have an electrical based qualification – NVQ Level 3 or higher, as well as experience of commercial smart metering and BEMS. You’ll have excellent IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office incl. Word & Excel and the ability to utilise PC based systems to interrogate automated equipment and effectively diagnose faults. You’ll also have a full UK drivers’ licence. The following would also be desirable: - at least 3 years' experience in all technical aspects of electrical metering; experience of Modbus networks; Gas, Water & Heat networks experience; Schneider PME Platform knowledge and a HNC/HND or equivalent in electrical engineering.
