The role
As a Programme Delivery Manager, you will adopt an “Airport as the customer” approach to project delivery, ensuring successful delivery while minimising disruption to airport operations and driving programme efficiencies through effective resource utilisation and project bundling.
You will aim manage part of the overall delivery across the team an annual £50m+ capital programme.
Key accountabilities
- Lead the delivery of a capital programme across three airports, covering Terminals, Airfield and Infrastructure.
- Deliver the annual capital programme within your functional area, managing a portfolio of projects totalling £5m+.
- Ensure projects are delivered with a clear focus on cost, schedule and quality.
- Plan, prioritise and manage multiple projects, ensuring delivery as promised and business case benefits are realised.
- Ensure appropriate resources are allocated across the programme portfolio to support continuous in-year delivery.
- Drive value and efficiency through identifying programme opportunities, including project bundling and group procurement.
- Ensure projects are delivered with minimal acceptable disruption to airport operations.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with Senior Operational Leaders within your programme of works.
- Lead, direct, evaluate and develop a team of Project Managers, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to specification.
- Support the annual business planning cycle for your programme of works and provide support for emerging business needs as required.
What will make you successful in this role?
- A university degree and Chartered Engineer, Surveyor or Project Professional status are preferred, with APMP PPQ or an equivalent project management qualification essential.
- Support the annual business planning cycle for your programme of works and provide support for emerging business needs as required.Membership of a relevant professional body, such as RICS, CIOB or ICE, and an MSP or equivalent programme management qualification are desirable.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and manage conflicting demands.
- Experience leading teams, delivering through others and influencing without direct control, alongside experience managing third-party approvals such as Planning, Property and Legal.
- Proven commercial acumen, including contributing to credible CAPEX business cases, with experience managing project development from explore through to handover and delivering greenfield and brownfield projects within mature assets
