The role
The Quantity Surveyor role will support the provision of a full range of commercial, contract formulation / management, procurement and supplier relationship duties for all capital and construction expenditure activity. In addition, the post holder will be play a key part in implementing sound commercial governance, control and best practice procurement, contract management and supplier relationship management.
Typical duties will include;
- Responsibility for providing an end to end service to the Capital Delivery and Asset Management client organisations and other business areas as required.
- Take overall responsibility for pre and post – contract duties in relation to various aspects of airport maintenance and refurbishment
- Procurement & Contracts delivery on various projects within a specific Airport location and across the wider MAG Group as required within the capital and construction category area.
- Day to day management of MAG framework contractors
- Supporting a Contract Management and Supplier Relationship Management approach across the capital programme to maximise end to end value opportunities through the supplier/contract relationships
- To implement contract strategies which support the Airports and wider Group business needs, and which align with organizational objectives, values, vision and goals and drive best value, working collaboratively with colleagues across the Group to maximize business benefit and will ensure compliance with OJEU regulations (Utilities Directives), internal processes and other relevant Legislation.
- Maintain an understanding of the environment/market within which the category of supply operates.
- Develop and sustain excellent working relationships with various stakeholders across MAG
What will make you successful in the role?
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have completed or be near completion of a bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying or related field, with a sound knowledge of industry standards and trends. 1-2 years of experience in quantity surveying is desirable.
You will be an effective communicator with excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. In addition, you’ll have good analytical skills and be able to influence and manager senior stakeholders.
We are looking for a candidate that can adapt to the needs of a changing environment with a broad range of projects from MEP to Civils. The candidate should be willing to learn and be ready to fulfil gaps in their knowledge by being part of an experienced team. We really enjoy developing peoples skills so that they are the right fit for the aviation environment and seek to build excellent relationships with the supply chain to ensure that the airport operation remains effective and efficient during our construction projects. This role is ideally suited to someone looking to develop their career and is really suited to individuals seeking to learn new skills.
