The role

The Recycling and Waste Manager has overall responsibility for the recycling team, charity donation and waste away function for the airport, ensuring the processes up and down stream are fully compliant. They will be driving continuous improvement in their area and striving to improve the end to end recycling and waste process. They will deliver to targets and KPI’s for recycling and waste and ensure the service is delivered within budget. The role manages third party contracts and works closely with stakeholders such as the Operational teams and the Environment team.

•    Can build new stakeholder and contract management relationships quickly and effectively and be able to influence others

 

You will have 

 

•    Experience in Waste and Recycling contractor management with a minimum of 3 years experience in operations waste management
•    Practitioner Membership of IEMA or equivalent
•    Strong communication and influencing skills
•    Demonstrable knowledge of waste, recycling and best practice techniques
•    Cross functional working experience in complex operational environments 
•    Structured approach to working with and improving Environmental Management Systems.
•    Be highly self-motivated, creative and proactive, whilst being able to organise and co-ordinate team working
•    Proven competency within the waste sector and COTC level 4 or experienced DGSA / WM3 assessor
•    IT skills
•    Driving licence
•    Previous experience with working with ISO14001 & ISO50001 is desirable
