The Role:


In this role you will be responsible for establishing asset standards, capital investment plans and maintenance standards for all assets within the Airfield pavement and Civil Engineering disciplines across all airports


You will have significant professional Asset Management experience, preferably derived through work within either infrastructure sector or within Civil Engineering and be a member of a professional body.


You will be highly influential; working across Airport Operations, Asset Maintenance, Security, Compliance teams and Finance in order to agree on investment plans and priorities as well as to setup integrated programme teams across multiple functions and disciplines, lead development of asset solutions and capital schemes.


Principle accountabilities include:

  • Functionally this asset group comprises developing, prioritising and delivering asset management strategies and standards across the group for all runways, taxiways, aircraft stands and all landside roads and car parking infrastructure.
  • Develop and own the asset criticality, performance and condition models for this asset group working collaboratively with the operational and maintenance teams to ensure data sources are reliable, accurate and complete. Use these models to inform maintenance plans and investment decisions that focus on whole life cost and optimising value for the group.
  • Build whole life Asset Management Plans for this asset group that inform business planning (1, 3, 5 and 25 year plans) and deliver agreed asset performance and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead the creation of a centre of excellence for this asset group that shares best practice and pulls resources when required.
  • Lead the Capex Gateway process from prioritisation of candidates (business needs), writing Gateway 0 – 2 approval papers (including business cases) and remaining as sponsor through to GW6.
  • Build collaborative relationships across airport Operational directorates, Capital Delivery, IT, Group Procurement and Finance.
  • Provide insight into industry best practice, technology advances and how these may provide value for the group.

  • 5 years + Asset Management experience – either through qualification or extensive knowledge in an infrastructure sector
  • Desirable - Degree / professionally qualified
