The role
This is a key role in ensuring the effective fuctioning of key systems, your responsibilities will include:
- Undertake planned and reactive maintenance work on airport infrastructure
- Meet agreed service levels and provide trouble free operational environment for our customers
- Ensure optimum availability / serviceability of assets, including:
- Surface water drainage, containment and discharge including all monitoring and operational ancillary equipment (Level sensors, SCADA, BOD analysers, penstocks, pumps, blower systems? etc..)
- Foul water system
- Site wide spill containment facilities
- Environmental control – including Interceptor maintenance
- Daily pond inspections and reporting during the winter period and risk-based monitoring during the rest of the year
- Water quality sampling for both Lab samples and also the handheld equipment to be completed at least twice a week in the winter and on a risk based schedule for the rest of the year
- Manage pre winter, post winter and summer improvement initiatives
- Crest levelling surveys, pond liner inspections
- Communicate effectively, and timely, with the site management team
- Ensure that management information data is accurately recoded for the work carried out via MAG’s maintenance system (Maximo).
- Utilise the water systems building management and associated control systems to ensure STN’s drainage containment systems are utilised to best effect and minimise the risk of any breach of environmental consents.
- Ensure optimal system operation during discharge consent periods and implement robust maintenance activities during winter preparation windows.
- Support in developing capex planning for system modification and upgrades
What will make you successful in the role?
In order to be successful in the role, you will possess:
- Proven ability to carry out first-line maintenance, inspections, and repairs to a high standard.
- It is essential that the post holder has experience of working in a similar capacity on a large commercial/industrial site where a similar range of multidiscipline engineering asset maintenance is undertaken
- Experience of water pumping station operations including submersible pumps, valve sets, control and monitoring systems, penstocks and containment lagoons.
- Ability to conduct sampling and surveys of water distribution and drainage networks.
- A good level of understanding of SCADA control systems
- Clear communication skills
- Able to work autonomously with minimal supervision
