The role


The Airport Security Manager is responsible for driving and leading the effective management of their team, contributing to the successful delivery of passenger security operations, ensuring that the critical part boundary is operated in accordance with regulatory requirements and MAG standards. The role holder will be a part of the wider management team for passenger security operations, taking full accountability for managing their teams’ performance and driving continuous improvement, exceptional service, and full compliance, on a day-to-day basis. As an inspirational leader, the role holder will have full responsibility for motivating, coaching, and developing their team of c.20 Aviation Security Officers (ASO) by providing the right tools and techniques to deliver an exceptionally high level of service that promotes the Manchester Airport Group (MAG) values.
 

What will make you successful in the role?

This is a role for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced organisation. 
They must be capable of analysing information quickly and make security critical decisions based on their analysis using foresight and strategic thinking whilst working under pressure, they must be self-motivated, target driven, and possess a positive ‘can do’ outlook. 
The individual should have experience of leading a medium-sized team within a complex operational environment. 
The individual will have demonstrable evidence of driving customer experience standards and operational performance / efficiency standards. 
The job holder should possess a management qualification; for example, the Institute of Line Management SVQ level 3 in Management, or the equivalent experience. 
The individual should have the ability to make quick, clear and informed decisions based on the information available to them, considering all angles and impacts on the whole operation, whilst finding the best possible solution to the problem. 
The individual will be required to obtain Level 1 and 2 security training and relevant security clearance. 
Data literacy with experience of conducting data analysis.
