Two volunteering days per year

The role

As Associate Finance Business Partner you will be working on the current Manchester Airport Transformation Project - currently the largest single construction project outside London.

With over £1.3 billion in budget, and upwards of 30 contractors on-site at any one time, the project will ensure that we revolutionise the customer and colleague experience at Manchester Airport. Our current Business Partner team need support as the project moves into its busiest phase, and as such we are looking for someone to come for at least 18 months, very likely to be longer, to join our team and help guide this project through. 

You will work with the existing Business Partner team, to support to a number of senior stakeholders, and manage the project contracts - aiming to keep them running on time and in budget, You will use your first class financial information reporting experience & excellent analytical and commercial insight to link financial reports to business strategies and maintain a strong system of financial controls.

This role is initially an 18 month FTC, but highly likely to be extended or in fact signed off into a permanent position. As we grow, the Finance team needs to grow alongside. 

What will make you successful in the role?

  • Proven track record in analytical skills, attention to detail and commercial awareness acumen
  • Considerable experience in reporting, financial analysis, management accounting and system dashboard skills
  • Demonstrable interpersonal and communication skills and a passion for building successful relationship with the business environment
  • Experience of thinking around problems, identifying and then implementing solutions.
  • Ability and flexibility to plan, organise and prioritise workloads to achieve pre-determined deadlines with ad hoc requests (project/tactical support, attending external events etc)
  • Strong IT system orientation including, Excel, Word, PowerPoint skills and experience of financial modeling. Knowledge of Oracle / SAP will be beneficial.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and adjust plans to meet changing needs and requirement
  • Ability to consolidate and present financial information in differing formats and to  be able to translate large amounts of data into useful information and actionable conclusions using local business knowledge where appropriate.

 

Professional accounting qualification e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification with minimum 2 years PQE
