The role
Are you ready to leverage your expertise in Aviation Security in an exciting new role? We're looking for a proactive individual to join our team as an Assurance Officer. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with the Security Assurance Manager to execute a robust internal security audit and assurance regime. Your focus will be on ensuring compliance with the National Aviation Security Programme and the 1982 Aviation Security Act, alongside other key UK security legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit and Assurance: Assist in the development and implementation of 1st line Security Assurance Programme.
- Compliance Management: Ensure all airport physical and personnel security measures meet regulatory standards set by bodies such as the CAA, DfT and industry-specific organisations.
- Investigation and Analysis: Conduct thorough audits, including paperwork and data review, interviews, fieldwork, root cause analysis, and reporting of findings.
What you'll need to succeed in the role
- Aviation Background: Prior experience in Aviation Security is desired, ideally with a Level 2 Ground Security Supervisor qualification. However, experience of working within a highly regulated environment will be applicable.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Ability to interpret and apply regulations within a complex operational environment.
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in root cause analysis and investigative techniques.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, essential for managing stakeholder relationships and reporting findings effectively.
- Continuous Learning: Willingness to obtain Airport Security Manager (ASM) accreditation and a Certificate in Internal Audit and Business Risk (supported by the MAG) with scope to study and obtain further qualifications offered by the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors.
