The Role
As the Cloud Platform Manager in our MAG Digital Products and Services team, you’ll own the Cloud Platforms end to end, and lead a team of Platform Architects and Engineers. You’ll be the champion for providing Cloud Platform solutions to support the digitisation projects and programmes across our airports for our most demanding business challenges. Working alongside our Platform, Airport and Group Function Product Managers, you will understand how the current cloud platform constraints and issues fit into a roadmap alongside strategic cloud platform infrastructure development that is driven by MAG business goals and objectives. You’ll guide solution thinking alongside technical platform architects to ensure the best fit solution, in terms of reliability, scalability, security and cost effectiveness in support of the desired business outcome. As well as being a hands on delivery person, you will also play a key role in leading your team, whether that be architects working on projects that impact cloud platform or platform engineers delivering changes. You’ll need to co-ordinate people so they’re all clear on the direction and roadmap, challenge them to make sure your cloud platform vision remains on course and empower them to drive their specific areas forward at pace.


What will make you a successful Cloud Platform Manager
You’ll have experience in planning and operating Private, Public and Hybrid cloud environments in a critical regulated environment with expertise in our preferred cloud platforms, VMware Cloud Foundation and AWS. You’ll have excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities with excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and with impact at all levels of stakeholders. You’ll have experience of working in a large, complex, regulated, asset-based corporate environment with matrix stakeholder management structure. Strong airport, aviation or similar complex business operational understanding developed through experience. You’ll also have demonstrable leadership and people development abilities, the ability to attract & develop talent and capabilities, identifies and cultivates essential skills and attributes to maximise colleague contribution and engagement. You’ll foster a culture of learning and growth across the function, and bring knowledge of new and emerging technology trends and roadmaps and be passionate about implementing best practise and technology enabled change through continuous improvement. You’ll also be comfortable dealing with ambiguity in a highly evolving change environment.
