What’s the role?
The Data Governance Manager will lead and oversee the organisation's data governance initiatives, ensuring that data assets are managed with the highest standards of integrity, security, and availability. 

This role is critical in establishing and maintaining comprehensive data governance policies, standards, and procedures, with a focus on compliance with regulatory requirements and fostering a culture of data stewardship throughout the organisation. 

The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in data governance frameworks, proficiency in tools like Atlan.com, and strong knowledge of AWS cloud services and Databricks to drive effective data governance practices across all business functions.

About You:

  • Experience leading development and implementation of data governance frameworks.
  • Have ensured compliance business wide, with data protection regulations, including GDPR, by integrating regulatory requirements into the organisation's data governance strategies.
  • Experience with Data Catalogue tools.
  • Familiarity and interest with AI privacy laws – desirable.
  • Proven experience in data management, data governance, or a related field, with a strong understanding of data lifecycle practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of data governance best practices, particularly in the areas of regulatory compliance and information governance.
  • SQL skills – desirable. 
  • Excellent communication and persuasion skills, with the ability to clearly convey the significance of data Governance to various business units.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and the capability to navigate complex governance issues.
