The role:

 

Decarbonising aviation is one of MAG’s strategic objectives and this role will be pivotal in supporting the development and implementation of a strategic programme, that will deliver the decarbonisation of MAG’s airports, no later than 2038, with a rate of emissions reduction that is compatible with climate science.  This role will also support the decarbonisation of UK aviation and realise the commercial opportunities that arise from the transition to net zero. 

 

You will be required to coordinate the development and delivery of a decarbonisation programme with an estimated capex spend of c.£250 million to achieve MAG’s net zero commitments.  You will be instrumental in exploring and business casing net zero solutions, including potential investment solutions providers.

 

You will review the results of MAG’s climate change risk assessments, ensuring our decarbonisation programme incorporates identified opportunities and responds to risks and provide support to governance bodies, including preparing reports for information and approval.

 

Key to this role is working with internal and external stakeholders, working collaboratively across our 3 airports to implement our decarbonisation strategies.

 

About you:

 

This is a new role to MAG, and we are looking for someone who can bring a wealth of experience in decarbonisation to support our programme. You will have expert knowledge of climate change and aviation decarbonisation, with a technical knowledge of decarbonisation and the technologies we can use to achieve our goals.  You will be degree (or equivalent) educated in a relevant field, and have experience in sustainability roles. You will be a collaborative worker, agile leader and have demonstrable experience in dealing with stakeholders at all levels.
