The role:

 

This is a new role to MAG, to lead the development and delivery of a Group Energy strategy and Net Zero transition for MAG, through the development of infrastructure, the introduction of new sustainable fuels and the implementation of both on-site and off-site renewable energy.

 

This will include the implementation of a robust risk management, monitoring and energy modelling framework, ensuring costs are understood and controlled and provide the framework to identify and capitalise on opportunities that arise as part of the transition to net-zero by 2038.

 

You will also provide guidance and leadership on all environment and energy matters commensurate with legal requirements, best practice principles and MAG corporate policy, ensuring that sustainability principles are integral to our business processes. Net Zero accountabilities will also include: delivery against science based targets, de-carbonisation of heat, roll out of ULEV and on-site renewable energy.

 

You:

 

You will need to be a senior leader within an Energy or Net Zero role with proven experience in developing and implementing energy strategy and utility cost control/reduction schemes within a large user of energy/utilities. You will have demonstrable understanding of how emerging net zero technologies can impact on utility infrastructure and how these issues can be navigated, along with working knowledge of utility markets and risk management strategies. You will be comfortable building networks with internal and external networks and influencing at senior levels.
