Role:

 

Reporting to the Head of Employee Relations, you are responsible for the development and implementation of the Employee Relations Strategy to support the business strategy, whilst working in partnership with key business stakeholders.

 

You will be required to provide ad-hoc ER advice, guidance and support to a wide range of organizational and transformational change activities and ER Cases and may be required to participate and lead on projects relating to employee relations in support of the wider People Function.   

 

In addition, you will be responsible for the management of the policy governance framework, ensuring policies are appropriately developed, applied, reviewed and risks and exceptions managed.

 

You will take the lead for the delivery of 2022/23 Policy Plan, to create a set of people policies and processes that are modern, simple and fair to support our People Strategy and provide an improved colleague and line manager experience.

This will also include developing simplified toolkits, templates and training to upskill Line Mangers when managing ER Cases, along with identifying trends and patterns in cases and providing solutions that address the root cause.

 

You will be working in close collaboration with the People Business Partners, Advisors and HR Service Centre to provide continuous revision and improvement of People processes and experiences across the group.

 

 

You

  • In-depth experience of HR Policy writing, bringing creative ideas and new ways of working to support the business growth. 
  • In-depth ER experience in relation to the implementation of change programmes within a unionised work environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of employment law
  • Experience of providing advice/guidance on ER Cases (eg Grievance, disciplinary, Absence, harassment etc), so that you fully understand both the colleague and Line Manger needs and challenges
  • Experience of working in a Trade Unionised environment
  • CIPD qualified
  • Strong IT skills
  • An interest in continuous technical development is also desirable
