The Role:


  • Manchester Airport based role, with group responsibilities as defined by the group energy manager
  • Line manager for 2 Metering Technicians and responsible for planning their daily work load – including the replacement and installation of new meters, meter reading, energy audits and energy efficiency initiatives
  • Key stakeholder in the development of MAG Energy Management Strategy to include gas, water and Electricity including the development and introduction of Science Based Targets (SBTs)
  • Work with key stakeholders, consultants and contractors both internally and externally to deliver energy management initiatives identified in the Energy Management Strategy
  • Ensure that all compliance obligations are met including annual UK-ETS, Carbon trust standard and ISO 50001.
  • Transition from a standalone ISO50001 system, to a group wide joint energy and environmental management system, ensuring that all requirements of the standard are built in to the operation and are maintained and are subject to continuous improvement
  • Develop and report against Energy related KPIs to appropriate stakeholders
  • Develop and implement communication plan to raise awareness of the importance of energy efficiency and to highlight the good work that Is happening at the airports.
  • To direct and oversee energy data analysis and reporting and prioritisation of energy efficiency plans.
  • Drive a culture of energy consciousness across site 




As an ideal candidate for this role, we would be looking for:

  • Degree or HND calibre with at least 3-5 year’s experience in the conception and delivery of corporate objectives specifically relating to energy management and/or business objectives.
  • Experience with working with ISO50001
  • Energy institute Level 2 energy manager or equivalent.
  • Proven track record of delivering significant behavioural change initiatives within a complex and dynamic organisation
  • Experience of EU-ETS submissions desirable
  • Ability to present complex information in a simple and easy to understand format
  • Proven track record of developing compelling business cases for Energy schemes and initiatives
  • Proven ability to manage projects from conception through to delivery.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Excel (VBA), Access and Powerpoint
