The Role
You will be responsible for managing budgets for new environments, maintaining delivery and availability plans for testing activities, and overseeing the promotion of components into test environments. In this role, you will represent the Testing practice in the Change Advisory Board, ensuring changes are appropriately covered and approved. The role will include coordinating the implementation of new systems and components into the pre-production landscape
You will manage the configuration assets for all environment components and control access levels for each environment. Additionally, you will collaborate with third-party suppliers on access to non-production platforms and ensure that technical designs align with the environment strategy. You will be involved in agreeing on future product changes, reviewing mitigations for changes, and making recommendations for go-live based on testing coverage.
A key part of your role will be prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment, making resource recommendations, and coordinating with the Head of Test and other squad leads. You will work closely with the Project Model Office to assess upcoming changes and their impact on environment availability. Building strong relationships with third-party product providers, project delivery colleagues, and the Senior Leadership Team will also be crucial to ensure successful project outcomes and continuous improvement.
What will make you successful in the role?
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable understanding of the platform needs for functional, integration, user, non-functional and operational testing, and be well-versed in delivering waterfall, agile, and DevOps methodologies. You will be responsible for managing multiple engagements within a highly regulated environment, demonstrating excellent resource planning, scheduling, and management skills.
You should be proficient in producing essential documentation and presentations, such as environment designs and configuration assets. Additionally, the role requires strong hands-on experience managing and configuring technologies, including Amazon Cloud Development Kits, Lambda services, Kubernetes, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Windows Servers, Linux Servers, Apache Kafka, and RabbitMQ. You will also need to be experienced in using test and project planning tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, and Microsoft Project.
The successful candidate will be someone who is willing to share knowledge and skills with developers and the test team, continuously improving the quality of products through better testing methods. A collaborative approach is essential, as you will need to be both a leader and a team player with a focus on knowledge-sharing and teamwork.
Experience in Airport Management Solutions, ISTQB Certification, ITIL Certifications, and AWS product qualifications are highly desirable.
