The role

As the Fire Safety Manager, you will be responsible for ensuing Manchester Airport complies with all applicable fire safety legislation and the requirements of the MAG Fire Safety Framework Standard. You’ll develop, manage and ensure compliance with the MAN Fire Safety Management Plan and work with MAN departments, concessionaires and third parties to ensure they are compliant. You’ll also work with and support the group function and be responsible for providing fire engineering designs, advice as well as act as clients advisor on both new buildings and buildings undergoing refurbishment in respect to fire safety measures, whilst supporting with MAG Fire Policy development to ensure legal compliance is achieved and the development of MAN Fire Safety standards are developed, deployed, embedded, and assured.

 

What will make you successful in this role

We are looking for a proactive and well-established Fire Safety professional with experience of complex buildings fire risk assessment and developing and implementing fire safety management systems in a large operational environment. You’ll be a member of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers or Institute of Fire Engineers and be familiar with BS9997. You’ll also be a strong communicator with the ability to influence at all levels, and you’ll have excellent attention to detail with the ability to analyse information and determine effective solutions. This is a busy role in a large operational environment, so it is essential you are able to effectively prioritise and meet demands when working under pressure.
