The role

Join Manchester Airport's Safety Department! We are undergoing a transformation and seeking a dynamic Risk and Assurance Manager. As a key member of the Health, Safety, and Fire Safety team, you will provide independent assurance, advice, and guidance on safety, risk, and regulatory matters related to occupational health and safety requirements.

 

Your role will involve developing the safety management system, including audit plans for operational health and safety risks to ensure compliance, effectively managing operational safety risks, and overseeing risk management and control processes. Additionally, you will conduct audit and assurance activities, recommend remedial actions for continuous improvement, and serve as the primary contact for second and third-line assurance activities.

 

 

What will make you successful in this role

We’re looking for someone with experience working in a similar role within a complex high-risk environment, a NEBOSH diploma (or equivalent) and an internal auditor qualification. You’ll be able to interpret complex regulatory requirements and apply in an operational environment and experience of auditing against ISO45001, BS9997 and effective Safety Management Systems to achieve regulatory assurance and legal compliance. You’ll also be an effective communicator and influencer as you’ll be responsible for managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships, and you’ll need to be able to generate reports and statistics to drive insight and decision making.
