The role:
In this role you’ll be responsible for the efficient and effective management of the day-to-day landside bussing operations for the airport, delivering a service which drives continual improvement in NPS scores and enhances our reputation with passengers and stakeholders.
- You’ll lead a team of drivers, ensuring that the team perform well and feel engaged and included, via coaching, one to ones, performance management and welfare support.
- Delivery of H&S plans and processes, ensuring that the team are compliant and that a culture of H&S is present.
- Use of KPIs and data to drive efficiency into the operation, making on the spot decisions and changes to the operation where needed and seeking solutions to trends and longer-term issues
- Delivery of key customer transport projects and bespoke work, to deliver long term improvement within the team, including the support and delivery of the Customer Transport business plan and budgets.
- Maintain health & safety procedures and responses across the ussing operation, including inspections, risk assessments, health surveillance measures and H&S governance arrangements.
- Ensure emergency response and contingency plans are in place for landside operations and regularly tested.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and partners to deliver infrastructure, systems, and equipment to deliver a high level of service
- Lead development and delivery of performance outputs for bussing Operations, working
- with partners and stakeholders to produce indicators and insights that support improved operational performance.
- Represent the airport for regulatory bodies, acting as Licence holder and SME for the Landside bussing operation, drawing on the directorate safety and compliance function for SMS support
What will make you successful in the role:
We’re looking for someone with experience of leading a team in a fast paced and regulated environment and knowledge of operating a transport service, Road Transport Act, obligations under Operator’s Licence and vehicle compliance.
- Demonstrable experience of managing in a fast-paced high-profile service within a regulated environment.
- Strong analytical skills and able to translate data to actions and outputs
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to develop and sustain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Proven experience of delivering high engagement and empowerment of direct reports
- Management of the operations via KPIs, driving short and long term change
- Proven ability in developing a high-quality safety culture
- Ability to balance creative operational solutions whilst remaining within a defined regulatory framework
