The role
We are currently recruiting for a Live Communications Agent to join within our busy team at Manchester Airport.
You will support the Customer Services Teams, Terminal and Airfield Security Teams and Terminal Duty Manager in the 24/7 operation of the Live Communications Centre.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Provide a communication centre for staff operating throughout the airport, providing information on monitored systems and communicate information that may affect or influence the operation of the airport
- Actively monitor systems across site using electronic means and instigating corrective actions as appropriate
- Use the Chroma Flight Information System
- Maintain MAG’s professional image to customers and business partners
- Be the communication hub for emergency calls, connecting to the emergency services whilst remaining calm and professional and communicating to the relevant terminal response team.
- Manage and complete relevant paperwork with regards to emergency situations, potential threats, aircraft emergencies and unattended baggage
- Maintain the integrity of the Airport Critical Area by monitoring CCTV, responding to automated alarms on various MAG computer systems
- Ensure departing/arriving domestic and international passengers enter and exit Terminal buildings via the correct channels with the use of the Flexigate system whilst liaising with the Operations team
- Monitor entry to controlled areas, logging details for all users and ensuring the areas are being used for the correct purposes.
- Monitor alarms and access for areas on the airfield, ensuring all access is justified and authorised.
What will make you successful in the role?
Desirable:
- Knowledge of Security, Airlines and Control Authorities procedures
- Experience gained in an airport operations and/or control room role
Essential:
- Ability to work within a team or autonomously
- Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in an emergency situation
- Strong attention to detail
- IT Literate with experience using CCTV based systems
- Flexibility and experience working various shift patterns such as early starts, late finishes and night shifts.
