The Role

As the Network Platform Manager in our MAG Digital Products and Services team, you’ll own the design and change of the group Network Platforms end to end and lead a team of Network Architects. You’ll be the champion for providing network solutions to support the digitisation projects and programmes across our airports for our most demanding business challenges. Working alongside our Platform, Airport and Group Function Product Managers, you will understand how the current network platform constraints and issues fit into a roadmap alongside strategic network development that is driven by MAG business goals and objectives. You’ll guide solution thinking alongside technical infrastructure architects to ensure the best fit solution, in terms of reliability, scalability, security and cost effectiveness in support of the desired business outcome. As well as being a hands-on delivery person, you will also play a key role in leading your team, whether that be architects working on projects that impact network platforms or the network operations engineers delivering changes. You’ll need to co-ordinate people so they’re all clear on the direction and roadmap, challenge them to make sure your network vision remains on course and empower them to drive their specific areas forward at pace.


What will make you a successful Network Platform Manager


You’ll have experience in planning and managing change in large multiuser campus networks in a critical regulated environment. Expertise in key networking technologies MPLS, VXLAN and policy-based security. You’ll have experience in architecting, planning and implementing change in a complex mission critical network environment, encompassing multiple large campus sites, datacentre and cloud networking. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities is a given. You’ll also have great oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and with impact at all levels of stakeholders. You’ll have experience of working in a large, complex, regulated, asset-based corporate environment with matrix stakeholder management structure.  You’ll have strong airport, aviation or similar complex business operational understanding developed through experience. We’d need to see demonstrable leadership and people development abilities, the ability to attract & develop talent and capabilities, identifying and cultivating essential skills and attributes to maximise colleague contribution and engagement. You’ll foster a culture of learning and growth across the function. You’ll also have knowledge of new and emerging technology trends and roadmaps and be passionate about implementing best practise and technology enabled change through continuous improvement. You’ll be comfortable dealing with ambiguity in a highly evolving change environment.
