The role

The Operational Planning Analyst is responsible for Manchester Airport’s operational planning across the D-1 to 12-month time horizon, with a core focus on either airfield, landside or terminal planning. You’ll use data, planning tools and operational insight to develop and maintain accurate capacity and operational plans, supporting the airport to respond effectively to changing demand, infrastructure works and operational challenges.

 

Working closely with operational teams and stakeholders across the airport, you’ll analyse complex data, identify capacity constraints and operational risks, and use scenario analysis to inform planning decisions. You’ll also contribute to seasonal planning and continuous improvement initiatives, helping to improve the accuracy, efficiency and effectiveness of our operational planning processes.

 

What will make you successful in this role

  • Experience in airport operations or complex infrastructure environments.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, data manipulation and planning models.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn data into operational insight.
  • Experience developing or maintaining operational, capacity or resource plans.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, anticipating issues and adapting plans.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence working across all levels.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail when producing plans, reports and models.
  • A curious, continuous-improvement mindset, with a focus on improving planning processes.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL or simulation tools would be advantageous.
