Reporting directly to the Head of Transactional Services, you will have overall accountability for the leadership and service delivery of the Group Payroll Department whilst being the subject matter specialist for Payroll and HMRC pay related issues. 


You will be responsible for both the strategic development and the day-to-day operations of the payroll department, ensuring the timely processing, controls and efficiencies of the group payrolls. You will ensure the accurate and timely submission of all group company tax and pension year-end returns, annual bonuses and/or pay awards. You will lead the payroll team to support internal and external stakeholders, meet service levels, cost, quality and control requirements, whilst driving simplification, standardisation and improvement of processes.





To be successful, we expect you will already have proven payroll management experience within a large/complex business. Comprehensive legislative and pension compliance experience. Educated to a degree level and a relevant payroll qualification e.g. CIPP. SAP experience is highly advantageous.


Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines is a must. As a seasoned Manager, you will be able to demonstrate strategic thinking and delivery as well as the ability to drive process efficiencies throughout the department.
