The role

You’ll be part of a busy and vital ER team supporting Manchester Airport. You’ll provide Line Managers with comprehensive end to end advice and support to ensure the effective resolution of HR casework and generalist support, through the provision of timely and accurate advice, including disciplinaries, up to and including dismissals and you’ll be responsible for Employment Tribunals within your area. You’ll build direct relationships with our Trade Union colleagues, managers and senior managers, and make regular decisions which have an impact on the culture here at Manchester Airport. Other key accountabilities will include:- giving accurate and right first time advice to all stakeholders; being the Subject Matter Expert in areas such as absence management, disciplinary and grievance procedures; developing and delivering training to up-skill Line Managers in policy, procedure and employment legislation; contributing to any new policies that impact HR casework; supporting departmental consultative forums. 

What will make you successful in the role?

In such a specialist position, you’ll need established complex case management experience, a detailed knowledge of employment law and experience of working with Trade Unions and within partnership agreements. You’ll preferably be CIPD qualified and have experience within a large complex organisation, with a busy flow of ER work. As an organisation we are under-going a significant amount of change which is impacting the People/ER workload and so we’re looking for someone who is available from October and can easily commute to Manchester Airport and happy to spend at least 4 days a week in the office.
