The role

In this role you will lead and manage the Project Controls team within the PMO function across Manchester, East Midlands and Stansted Airport, responsible for the effective capture, analysis & reporting of project data and delivery of Management Information. You will be responsible for providing and maintaining a robust, reliable and accurate project controls regime for MAG’s Capital Plan and work with the Project Controls and Capital Delivery teams to ensure cost allocation, budget compliance and business forecasting is provided in line with the business calendar, within the accuracy targets set by the business. 

 

As the Project Controls Manager, you’ll lead the development and implementation of project controls processes across planning, scheduling, cost management, change control and risk analysis. Working closely with cross-functional teams across our 3 airports, you’ll ensure accurate reporting, forecasting, and performance tracking for major programs.

 

You will be responsible for developing and producing Management reports that satisfy needs of multiply stakeholders including Heads of Project Delivery, Head of PMO, airport Leadership and ultimately MAG Exco, which includes detailed working dashboards for month end performance.

 

You will manage the development, planning and control of the overall Capital Expenditure plan for MAG covering one-year, and develop the five-year and ten-year business plans

What will make you successful in the role?

To be successful in this role you will have detailed knowledge & experience of managing & working with the latest industry scheduling, profile & cost tools, including Primavera & SAP. You will have significant experience in providing both near term & medium-term project cash-flow forecasts (12 month rolling) with the ability to shape & provide bespoke reports from Primavera.  You will also be experienced in month & annual status reporting on large multi-disciplined programmes of work and delivering complex multi-stakeholder projects & programmes of work to tight regulatory deadlines.

 

Ideally you will have proven experience in Project Controls or Project Management & have excellent analytical & leadership skills, and be a member of RICS, the APM or equivalent. You will have prior leadership experience and be able to influence effectively.
