The role
As the SAP Finance Support Analyst at MAG you will be a functional expert in the designated area of focus being Finance. Working in partnership with the Product Manager and business partners with our SAP applications as part of a resolver group, and as the initial point of technical support for incidents and service requests.
Your role is critical in interpreting the requirements from finance and the Product Manager using your functional as well as financial expertise to recommend and implement configuration and build to meet those requirements. You will be required to manage all aspects of implementation / changes in the applications including managing any 3rd party or AMS engagement, testing and cutover activities, with consideration being given to authorisation and controls in any design and build as well as a standard approach to the use of applications where possible.
Reporting to the Head of Systems Operations you will be responsible for providing service excellence and support in the achievement of MAG business objectives.
Our SAP Finance estate currently includes ECC 6.0 for all our Finance activities (FICO, PCA, CCA, PS), Concur for expenses, Ariba for procurement as well as BW and BPC to support financial reporting.
Also in our SAP estate is Successfactors for HR and ECP for payroll. We link closely to Servicenow which houses our incident management process.
Principal Accountabilities
Functional expertise
Using functional expertise to deliver service excellence.
Utilising standard application solutions to deliver to business requirements.
Sustainable and future proof in design and implementation.
Prioritisation of workload.
Using experience and technical knowledge to challenge and discuss requirements and means of delivery.
Safeguard the production environment with guardrail to include testing, design principles, cutover activities, training, communication, approvals and authorisations.
Collaboration and working within a team
Working within a team and collaborating with the Business, colleagues in the COE, 3rd parties and AMS support to understand and interpret business needs fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and excellence.
Technology Service Management
Define and implement best practices for Technology Service Management, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services across the IT infrastructure.
Consider continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery.
Security and Compliance
Consider robust authorisation objects in conjunction with SAP Security as good working practice to maintain segregation of duties.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards and best practises in accordance with all applicable financial regulatory standards.
What will make you successful in the role?
- Strong technical knowledge of SAP configuration. While SAP certifications are not a necessity but an advantage, I would expect a track record to include experience of full implementations, multiple projects or similar relevant experience in a support role.
- You should have a strong financial background as a Part Qualified / Qualified or Qualified by experience Accountant to be able to understand and link finance processes as well as translate the requirements of the business into deliverables and action those deliverables.
- Understanding of SAP Configuration, Master Data and SAP authorisation objects and principles is critical to the role.
- Our estate includes Ariba, Concur, ECC 6.0 (PS, AA, FICO, MM, SD, PCA) BW and BPC. The successful candidate should be proficient in a number of these areas and understand not only the relationships but be able to trouble shoot where iDocs and interfaces fail.
- Focus on delivering customer service excellence and quality solutions.
- Ability to work independently to prioritise workload, take pertinent decisions, and to work well under pressure to deliver effective solutions timely and within often deadlines.
