Security Ambassadors – What do they do?

 

Ambassadors are the heart and foundation of the security team here at MAG. In this vital role you will:

 

Host the entrance to security central search areas, effectively preparing passengers for presentation at the boarding card readers and x-rays.


Assisting passengers in loading their trays – this means ensuring their items are presented correctly for x-ray screening and they’re profiled for items to be screened by x-ray to reduce the number of rejected trays.


Taking ownership and managing numerous queues in and around the central search areas and prioritise any passengers whose flights may be departing within a short period of time.


Ensuring that flow remains compliant with security regulation.


Providing professional, timely and accurate information to our passengers. 


Ensuring that all specified service standards are maintained and that passengers receive excellent customer service as they move through the Terminals security process in a safe and efficient manner.

What contract will I be offered?

 

We offer a permanent annualised hours contract which means you are paid for 30/38 hours a week, however, at peak times you may be required to work additional hours or at quieter times you may be required to work less than 30/38 hours a week - This does not affect your salary which is paid consistently at 30 or 38 hours per week depending on your hour preference.

 

You will need to be flexible to work on a 24/7 operation which will include early morning starts, nights shifts, weekends, bank holidays. Shifts will vary in lengths so you can expect short-haul and long-haul shifts. 

 

The rate of pay for our Ambassadors is £11.63 per hour (this includes shift allowance). Please note - this is paid and shown on payslips as an annual salary.

 What are you looking for in me?

 

No previous security experience? Don’t worry – we have everything covered. A one-week training course is provided. As a Security Ambassador it is essential that you have previous experience in a face-to-face customer service role and the drive to deliver a world class service to our passengers. As the face of MAG we need our Ambassadors to have sky high personal presentation and a “can-do” attitude as part of your baggage.

You will have the ability to assess a situation and deal appropriately to improve or diffuse accordingly. We need you to be able to work both independently and with other members of the ever-growing Security Team. In addition to this, you will pride yourself on your positive work ethic, time keeping skills and attention to detail.

 

Please note the role will require long periods of standing, bending and walking.

 

If you’re successful, you will be made a conditional offer subject to Pre- Employment checks being cleared. These include: A Criminal Record Check, 5 years employment history and Counter Terrorism Check.
