In this role you will lead the Finance Business Partnering function (3 direct reports) on the operational/costs side of the Manchester FBP team covering Operational costs (c£300m opex costs per annum), providing finance business partner support to a number of senior stakeholders across operations, building key relationships with their teams whilst providing decision making support through first class financial information reporting, analysis and recommendations whilst maintaining a strong system of financial controls.

The role holder will focus on supporting the MAN COO and CAADO and associated SLT teams alongside MD throughout BAU operations and adhoc requirements to support and challenge the business decisions and advise on future direction and investment choices, in addition to leading the annual business planning process for MAN Operations, ensuring business engagement throughout the process.

Reporting to the finance director and working within the MAN finance team to co-ordinate, consolidate and interpret the financial performance of the airport;

  • monthly financial performance incl operating metrics and KPI’s,
  • short and medium term forecasting, and
  • medium and long term business planning.

The role will need to work closely with the commercial and capex finance teams to ensure an overall holistic view of performance of MAN and the development and delivery of MAN strategy and business plan alongside business cases and supporting longer term investment decisions associated with MAN-TP / Future Security etc.

We are looking for

  • Qualified Accountant; at least 5 years PQE
  • Experience of working in an Operational setting / cost control roles
  • Proven ability to work as a finance business partner in a matrix management structure across multiple business lines and streams
  • Strong business development and commercial expertise
  • Role model for leadership behaviours and MAG values
  • Considerable experience in reporting, financial analysis, management accounting and system dashboard skills. 
  • Demonstrable interpersonal and communication skills, and a passion for building successful relationships within the business environment
  • Ability to perform under pressure and adjust plans to meet changing needs and requirements. 
  • Proven ability to multi-task, prioritising own workload for best effect
  • Strong ability to interact with senior stakeholders.
