Position Details:


MAG’s HR Team is currently going through some really exciting changes; creating a focused, modern and collaborative ‘one team’ approach across our Group. As our new People Partner for Group & Development, you will supporting the Head of People and work in partnership with senior managers and Group People function to create, drive and embed the people strategy and plan with focus on change management, organisation design, resourcing, development, ER and engagement activities.


This strategic, Manchester based role covers a broad range of Group function departments including Finance; Procurement, Legal and People Services and IT etc. The position offers a fantastic opportunity for the right person to truly partner with the business and delivery fresh, exciting people strategy during a time of change and post covid growth.


Other accountabilities include:


  • Lead the case management service for the Group Functions and use analytics and insight to deliver service and business improvements
  • Support the development and delivery of Health and Wellbeing Strategy and plan
  • Collaborate and contract with appropriate group people functions to develop solutions to support delivery of the people plan.
  • Identify future structure and resource requirements.
  • Work with your business clients to align relevant aspects of the people strategy to their needs
  • Support the Head of People to ensure that all aspects of the people strategy are fully executed and embedded.
  • Influence and coach clients to identify high performance and potential individuals and to initiate suitable career development opportunities.
  • Providing expert and accurate people advice to assist and coach Senior Leaders
  • On an exceptional basis coach, support and challenge the Senior Leaders and management through complex grievance and disciplinary issues
  • Support and embed Group Diversity and Inclusion initiatives and broader strategy.
  • Develop the employee engagement culture, measured through surveys
  • Support other People Partners on Group wide projects.
  • Support the Head of People in developing strong and open relations with the Trade Unions to deliver the People Strategy, building on the strong partnership ethics already embedded.




You will already have experience in a similar large/ complex business within a senior HR partnering role.


Knowledge, Experience and Skills


  • Graduate calibre with relevant professional experience
  • Full CIPD accreditation
  • HR generalist with knowledge and experience of developing and implementing best practice HR techniques and methodologies (reward, ER, Leadership & Development, engagement)
  • Experience of leading change and operating in a unionised environment
  • Experience of influencing senior stakeholders
  • Ability to build strong relationships
  • Passionate about customer service
  • Resilience and tenacity in delivering within a fast paced organisation
